Abstract
Scrutiny of the interplay between gender, politics, and media policies remains crucial to develop necessary knowledge on the contradictions that prevent gender equality from becoming a reality in this sector. Structural and cultural barriers from the local to the supranational level need to be fully appreciated. Similarly, a comparative reading of the political, socio-economic and discursive conditions that constrain women’s specific competence, and hamper opportunities for change in a fast evolving media sector, is needed. This themed issue of ComPol presents contributions addressing different aspects of policy making in/for the media from a gender perspective.Pubblicazioni consigliate
