Il paesaggio veneto si caratterizza per la forte presenza di edifici industriali, distribuiti nel territorio. Questa presenza, che influisce oggi in modo determinante nella forma dello spazio della città diffusa, è il prodotto di un’evoluzione complessa, che ha modificato pesantemente il paesaggio e la società, e che nel corso degli anni è stata interpretata in vari modi. Nostalgia, progresso e obsolescenza sono termini chiave di questa mutazione paesaggistica, che insieme fanno intuire da un lato le contraddizioni del fenomeno dell’industrializzazione, dall’altro le potenzialità che la successiva dismissione offre in termini di trasformazione del paesaggio. One of the most distinctive features of the Italian Region Veneto is the strong presence of industrial buildings distributed throughout the whole territory. This presence, which today has an influence on the space of the “sprawled city”, is the product of a complex evolution, which over the years has heavily modified landscape and society. Nostalgia, progress and obsolescence are key words of this landscape change, which together explain, on the one hand, the contradictions of the industrialization, on the other, the potential that the industrial building abandonment offers in terms of transformation of the city.
