Des sentiments en médiation (en passant par la langue)

The present paper aims at contributing to the research in Linguistics on the role of feelings in mediation. The study focused on the extent to which the discourses of mediation deal with feelings. At this purpose, data were retrieved from ad hoc corpora on discourses about the theory of mediation as well as on different kinds of mediation (civil, public, intercultural, linguistic, school mediation). Lexical data and modes of semiotization of feelings were analyzed. The obtained results show that lexical data about feelings are marginal in the corpora and feelings often not made explicit or explained. Such results suggest to mediators and experts of mediation to concentrate on the conceptual and terminological significance of the link and the relationship in their discourses.
