In children from 6 to 11 years of age, situated recognition of facial expressions of emotions - i.e., expressions for which the decoder is given information about the eliciting event - is greater than non-contextualized facial expressions of emotions - i.e., seeing simple photographs of facial expressions of emotions. Girls and older children display somewhat greater recognition abilities, but recognition abilities vary significantly by emotion, with happiness being the most accurately recognized and anger being the least accurately recognized.

Abstract
In children from 6 to 11 years of age, situated recognition of facial expressions of emotions - i.e., expressions for which the decoder is given information about the eliciting event - is greater than non-contextualized facial expressions of emotions - i.e., seeing simple photographs of facial expressions of emotions. Girls and older children display somewhat greater recognition abilities, but recognition abilities vary significantly by emotion, with happiness being the most accurately recognized and anger being the least accurately recognized.File in questo prodotto:
