Abstract: The Mediterranean can be understood as a well-recognized historical region on a global scale, a place where is evident the interdependence between the three continents (Europe, Asia, Africa) and different traditions in culture, language and civilization. Recently, a specific history of the Mediterranean has been claimed to be distinguished from Mediterranean studies, a multidisciplinary conglomerate that has become a pretext for arguing, studying, discussing a bit of everything.
