The Baron de Charlus’s epistolary activity can be read in the light of his “conversational history.” A pragmatic analysis of the only two letters by the character reproduced in their entirety—one sent to Aimé, the other intended for the Narrator—will demonstrate the originality of the Baron’s epistolary style and, consequently, the elements of continuity between the tactics he uses in oral interaction and in written communication.

Abstract
The Baron de Charlus’s epistolary activity can be read in the light of his “conversational history.” A pragmatic analysis of the only two letters by the character reproduced in their entirety—one sent to Aimé, the other intended for the Narrator—will demonstrate the originality of the Baron’s epistolary style and, consequently, the elements of continuity between the tactics he uses in oral interaction and in written communication.File in questo prodotto:
