This essay aims to question Georges Canguilhem’s concepts of «normal» and «pathological» from the perspective of Frantz Fanon’s works, broadening their theoretical range from physiology to psychiatry and investigating their peculiar articulation in the colonial context. This tension allows to problematize the processes of production of truth and constitution of subjectivity within medical practice, while stating the need for its epistemological decolonisation.
