From 1956 to 1960, the intellectual Ettore Luccini organized the cultural program of the circle “Il Pozzetto”, a place founded in Padua on the initiative of the Italian Communist Party. This social club, due to the forced and painful closure, could be considered one of the most emblematic cases of “interrupted stories”. The pretext for the censorship of the circle’s activities is the exhibition La nuova concezione artistica (The New Artistic Conception), which was transferred from the Azimut Gallery in Milan to Padua in April 1960. The decision was taken by the executive group of the Padua federation of the PCI, which did not approve of the involvement of the bourgeois class and the openness towards Avant-Garde artistic ini- tiatives. The accusations directly hit the person in charge, Ettore Luccini, who was guilty of welcoming the bold works of Piero Manzoni, Enrico Castellani, Heinz Mack, Alberto Biasi and Manfredo Massironi. This contribution intends to propose a reinterpretation of the history of the circle “Il Pozzetto” to enhance and give back a voice to this place of exchange and sharing. Starting from previous studies, it will be reconstructed, through archive documents, the reason why the exhibition arrived in Padua, being part of the cultural operation promoted by Luccini.

Abstract
Starting from previous studies, it will be reconstructed, through archive documents, the reason why the exhibition arrived in Padua, being part of the cultural operation promoted by Luccini.Pubblicazioni consigliate
