The paper presents results on heat transfer from a cylinder in pulsating flow. Experimental setup and numerical study of pulsating flow inside a channel with different incoming pulsating velocity forms in the presence of a heated cylinder are performed. The oscillatory flow and the heat transfer in two-dimensional pulsating heated pipes were simulated using Ansys software. This study aims to investigate the cooling behavior of a cylinder subjected to an unsteady incoming air and to find the optimum frequency and amplitude of the incoming air which maximize heat transfer.
