Abstract
In the present paper we discuss the main analytical results obtained from an archeometrical analysis on wall paint- ing fragments collected from a primary collapsed pictorial system documented in a Middle Imperial building in the ancient city of Nora (Sardinia), in course of excavation by the University of Padua. The analysis, which include petrographic, mineralogical and microchemical methodologies, were carried out in the laboratories of the Depart- ment of Geosciences of the University of Padua. Throughout this multi-analytical approach, it has been possible to fully define the materials and manufacturing technologies used along with the production of tectorium mortars and painting layers of the wall painted nucleus under exam. The archaeometrical approach was fundamental for proving the technical level reached by Roman crafts operating in Nora and for reconstructing the economic and social status of the patron of the house. una specifica attenzione all'aspetto tecnologico-produttivo, attraverso il supporto scientifico delle analisi archeometriche.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
