During his high school years Nicola Festa was a student of the poet Giovanni Pascoli. Over the years he always maintained a relationship of confidence and collaboration with the master and became one of the first interpreters of his Latin poetry. This essay aims to restore to Festa the merits he had in marking, with pioneering exegetical proposals, the most convincing interpretation of Pascoli's Latin poetry before the studies of Alfonso Traina.
