Abstract
From medieval times, the islands of the Venetian lagoon welcomed the ecclesiastical communities of an impressive array of different orders affording scholars a kaleidoscope of religious cultures and practices. This unique condition allows us to pinpoint commonalities and differences among their building typologies and understand to what extent architectural decisions were intrinsic to religious orders or were forms of resilience to the peculiar nature and socio-political society of the lagoon.File in questo prodotto:
