The present paper gives account of different static and dynamic network analyses and includes economic elements in terms of key benefits regarding the potential conversion of a transmission line from HVAC (High Voltage Alternating Current) to HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current). Focus of the studies is specifically on the power system and network of Sicily in a 2030 scenario. The work has been part of the activities carried out in the framework of the collaboration between RSE and the University of Padova.

Abstract
