This research on high-speed stability of motorcycles is facing both to the simulation method and to the modelling problem. On one side the object is the "Time Domain Stabiliy" which is a novel, non-linear, time-domain approach for the stability analysis. Intended as a complement of the standard approach, it allows to further investigate phenomena that are not reproducible with a linear, frequency-domain approach. On the other side, several aspects of the modelling problem have been investigated. The effect of high-speed aerodynamics phenomena and the effect of two of the most used tyre models were inspected, new experimental methods for tyre and rider property characterization has been devised and a new method for the simulation of rough road surfaces has been proposed.
