A synthesis of the economic trends of the hellenistic Adriatic context from the commercial point of view. The literary documents as well as the archaeological data allow us to see (or alternatively postulate) some peculiar local trade areas, which deserve each one to be studied by specific approaches. At the same time it is possible to detect (or, at least, to assume) the integration of these regional or sub-regional circuits with the main trading routes along the Adriatic. More particularly, historiographical sources offer susbstantial evidence or intriguing clues about the early relevance (since the III century B.C.) of the slave-trade, especially from Illyria to Roman Italy.

Abstract
A synthesis of the economic trends of the hellenistic Adriatic context from the commercial point of view. The literary documents as well as the archaeological data allow us to see (or alternatively postulate) some peculiar local trade areas, which deserve each one to be studied by specific approaches. At the same time it is possible to detect (or, at least, to assume) the integration of these regional or sub-regional circuits with the main trading routes along the Adriatic. More particularly, historiographical sources offer susbstantial evidence or intriguing clues about the early relevance (since the III century B.C.) of the slave-trade, especially from Illyria to Roman Italy.Pubblicazioni consigliate
