Abstract

Two-dimensional (2D) Van der Waal (VdW) materials are hugely diversifying into multiple streams of research owing to their vast range of properties. Recent discovery of magnetism in 2D materials made them even more attractive for the possible development of magnetic spin valves and VdW heterostructures. Here, we developed a thin film growth protocol of Cr4Te5 exhibits room temperature ferromagnetism. The photon energy dependent electronic properties as probed by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy show kz dispersion thus disclosing a quasi 2D system.
