A quantitative formulation of the general scheme of Hoyle's theory on the formtion of solar system is attempted. The main point consists in assuming that the original solar magnetic field of the Sun is a dipole field. This allows to calculate the total quantity of matter emitted at the solar equator, and the distance reached by the ring thus formed, as function of the radius of the Sun in gravitational contraction along the Hayashi track, and of the initial values of the magnetic field and of the total angular momentum. Abstract

Preliminary results are presented.
