As has already been seen in the chloroplasts of light-grown sunflower plants, also in the etioplasts of dark-grown sunflower plants their internal membrane system appears to be formed by lightly stained membranes which, afterwards, become normally stained. Therefore in the sunflower the shift from lightly stained membranes to strongly stained ones appears to be characteristic of the plastidial internal membranes both in light- and in dark-developed plastids. © 1979 Academic Press, Inc.

Abstract

As has already been seen in the chloroplasts of light-grown sunflower plants, also in the etioplasts of dark-grown sunflower plants their internal membrane system appears to be formed by lightly stained membranes which, afterwards, become normally stained. Therefore in the sunflower the shift from lightly stained membranes to strongly stained ones appears to be characteristic of the plastidial internal membranes both in light- and in dark-developed plastids. © 1979 Academic Press, Inc.
