The compd. is orthorhombic, space group P212121, with a 17.648(8), b 15.083(8), and c 10.830(7) Å; dm = 1.55 and dc = 1.56 for Z = 4. Final R = 10.2%. The at. parameters are given. The structure consists of neutral mols. of [Sm(NO3)3.L.H2O] in which the metal is deca-coordinated, being directly bonded to 3 ligand O atoms, to 3 bidentate NO3 groups, and to 1 H2O mol.
