Fossili cenozoici della Valsugana. Catalogo della collezione Boschele, parte I

Here we provide a first contribution to the description of the Boschele palaeontological collection. A detailed systematic study was conducted on the ~ 400 specimens, mainly attributed to marine invertebrates, found in several stratigraphical levels comprised between the late Eocene and the early Oligocene. Sedimentological analysis of the studied outcrops, all located nearby Borgo Valsugana (East Trentino Province), is provided and discussed together with palaeoenvironmental reconstructions. This represents the most complete geological and palaeontological study of the Cenozoic sediments outcropping in the considered area, and is thought as an integration and update of the studies conducted in the same area in the last decades.
