A case of acute ileal obstruction due to lead poisoning is presented and its pathogenetic aspect reviewed. The Authors emphasize that intestinal volvulus in lead poisoning may take place even in the absence of promoting congenital anomalies or acquired adhesions. For the presented case a peculiar pathogenetic mechanism is suggested.

Abstract
A case of acute ileal obstruction due to lead poisoning is presented and its pathogenetic aspect reviewed.
