Abstract

A straightforward extension of existing models, combining the inhomogeneous nature of a gas with multiple scattering theory, was found to reproduce the anomalous and previously puzzling measurements of the pressure effect on electron mobilities in Neon gas at five temperatures and moderate densities both simply and accurately. It does so with only one variable parameter, the percentage difference δ of the local density Nloc at the average momentum transfer from the global N.
