The paper presents the conclusions of the Conference “Professionalism, Regularity, Safety: requirements for a quality sector” held in Arezzo (Italy) on January 30, 2004. It emphasized some key points derived from the analysis of the different contributions submitted to the Conference: knowledge of the forest enterprises sector, from both qualitative and quantitative point of view; control (and related tools) of manpower utilization; role of the non-EU workers; relationship between wood owners/sellers and forest enterprises; vocational and management training; forest enterprises representativeness; information of public opinion.
