The work features concerning the forest utilization performed in Bolzano Province, Trento Province, Veneto Region and Friuli-Venezia Giulia are analysed. An overview of the forest environment is provided and its main characteristics are examined. The peculiarities of the forest enterprises that operate in the North-eastern Italy are studied. The study id mainly based on the experiences matured in the sector and it can be supported only in part through data obtained from statistics and surveys. Nevertheless it is possible to consider the state-of-the-art of the forest enterprises and to evaluate the short-medium period perspectives.
