Health economists consider improvement in the quality of health care as a dynamic and multi-dimensional process. So far the main contribution of economics to the evaluation and promotion of quality in health care has come from management science. This considers health care quality from the perspective of the organisation and management of healthcare services. A promising new way to evaluate and improve quality in the healthcare sector uses cost-effectiveness analysis and cost-utility analysis. These techniques may prove useful for applying a dynamic process of outcome management.

Abstract
Health economists consider improvement in the quality of health care as a dynamic and multi-dimensional process. So far the main contribution of economics to the evaluation and promotion of quality in health care has come from management science. This considers health care quality from the perspective of the organisation and management of healthcare services. A promising new way to evaluate and improve quality in the healthcare sector uses cost-effectiveness analysis and cost-utility analysis. These techniques may prove useful for applying a dynamic process of outcome management.File in questo prodotto:
