The aim of this paper is to consider the influence of Friedman’s methodological position on Di Fenizio and Graziani between the fifties and the sixties. Both these authors used the Friedman’s empiricist view to promote changes in the Italian economic thought: Di Fenizio supported the keynesian revolution and Graziani tried to overcame the traditional and deduttivistic ap-proach to economic problems. The analysis point out two results: from the one hand, the epistemological discussions emerge in pe-riods of theoretical transition, on the other hand, it is possible to consider in a different way the significance of Friedman’s stru-mentalism.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to consider the influence of Friedman’s methodological position on Di Fenizio and Graziani between the fifties and the sixties. Both these authors used the Friedman’s empiricist view to promote changes in the Italian economic thought: Di Fenizio supported the keynesian revolution and Graziani tried to overcame the traditional and deduttivistic ap-proach to economic problems. The analysis point out two results: from the one hand, the epistemological discussions emerge in pe-riods of theoretical transition, on the other hand, it is possible to consider in a different way the significance of Friedman’s stru-mentalism.Pubblicazioni consigliate
