Abstract

This paper describes the method used for the high-frequency electromagnetic (EM) analysis of the TS ITER Prototype array and of its associated tuning system by 3D finite elements modelling (FEM) and discusses some of the results obtained. This method is a new approach to the design of high frequency systems, when physical dimensions are a non-negligible fraction of the radiation wavelength, and the effects of local modes cannot be accounted for by a pure TEM analysis.
