Abstract
A new method to suppress the radiation that is due to third-order dispersion in a solitonlike self-mode-locked laser is suggested. We propose to exploit the dispersion of the nonlinearity in the vicinity of two-photon resonance to counteract the radiative effects. A perturbative approach combined with numerical solutions demonstrates the effectiveness of this scheme to increase the stable operating domain and shorten the output pulses. Suggestions for experimental realizations are given.File in questo prodotto:
