A new, pale pink, Coordination Polymer, [Cu(mu-pz)2]•H2O, (pz = pyrazolate anion) has been quantitatively obtained by reacting, in the air, acetonitrile solutions of copper(II) carboxylates with pyrazole. The hydrated compound loses easily water becoming the anhydrous beige species [Cu(mu-pz)2]. The process is completely reversible and the anhydrous species adsorbs easily and reversibly small molecules as NH3, MeOH and MeCN. The crystal structures of solvated and unsolvated compounds have been determined by non-conventional XRPD ab initio calculations.

Abstract
A new, pale pink, Coordination Polymer, [Cu(mu-pz)2]•H2O, (pz = pyrazolate anion) has been quantitatively obtained by reacting, in the air, acetonitrile solutions of copper(II) carboxylates with pyrazole. The hydrated compound loses easily water becoming the anhydrous beige species [Cu(mu-pz)2]. The process is completely reversible and the anhydrous species adsorbs easily and reversibly small molecules as NH3, MeOH and MeCN. The crystal structures of solvated and unsolvated compounds have been determined by non-conventional XRPD ab initio calculations.File in questo prodotto:
