The philosophy of Emanuele Severino is considered mainly by the theoretical point of view and no one has yet ventured in the way that shows its ethical, scientific and political implications. This article deals with this problem to show how a radical new ethic and a new epistemology (that means both “philosophy of science” and “theory of knowledge”) derive from this thought, and how this thought is able to resolve the conflict between moral instances and techniques. In this article, the analysis of three areas, identified as forming Severino’s philosophy (fundamental ontology, philosophy of history and history of philosophy), and the discussion about how to resolve two key problems (issue of history and solipsism), allows us to glimpse the human future as a “necessary ethic progress”.
