The paper refers to the analysis of interactions between the impeller and the vaned dif-fuser of a radial flow pump. It mainly focuses on the flow within one blade passage of a vaned diffuser in four operating conditions. The 2D/2C PIV technique was used to analyze the diffuser flow field in various measuring planes in the hub to shroud direction, for one relative impeller position in the diffuser frame. These experimental results were compared to numerical data obtained with the help of CFX computer code.

Abstract

The paper refers to the analysis of interactions between the impeller and the vaned dif-fuser of a radial flow pump. It mainly focuses on the flow within one blade passage of a vaned diffuser in four operating conditions. The 2D/2C PIV technique was used to analyze the diffuser flow field in various measuring planes in the hub to shroud direction, for one relative impeller position in the diffuser frame. These experimental results were compared to numerical data obtained with the help of CFX computer code.
