A TEM research has been carried out, which allowed to determine the fine structure of the marine chloreJla Chlorella nana sp. nov. Particularly interesting was the presence of sporopollenin in the cell wall. Unlike other chlorellae with parietal sporopollenin in which the cell wall consists of an inner microfibrillar layer and an outer sporopollenin layer, the cell wall of Chlorella nana can exhibit several sporopollenin layers which are always inner as regards each microfibrillar layer. © 1979, Walter de Gruyter. Abstract
