The effects of environmental exposure to estrogenic and neurotoxic compounds were evaluated in the clam Tapes philippinarum (Bivalvia: Veneridae) from the Lagoon of Venice. The results obtained indicate increased levels of Vg-like proteins, particularly in males, and decreased acetylcholinesterase activity, highlighting potential risk conditions for the clam population in the study areas.
