The present paper fits into the world of socio-cultural psychology and considers the Ecstasy representations of 74 young discothèque clients. The Ecstasy phenomenon has involved the whole of Europe over the last decades and in Italy it has been handled with some difficulty. This article presents the results of a field research study carried out by using part of an instrument devised and validated by Zanellato et al. (1999) and Milanese et al. (2000) - the attitude scale questionnaire - from which 30 items were drawn related to two dimensions on which social representations are constructed: anchoring and objectivation. The study shows, on the one side, the discrepancy between the ways this substance is usually represented and those of the contacted group and, on the other, the structural model through which the descriptive elements considered organise the representation.
