The nearctic leafhopper Erasmoneura vulnerata (Fitch) was recorded for the first time on grapes in Europe (Italy, Veneto region) in 2004. Since then, it has been detected in four regions in North-eastern Italy. The phenology of this pest in North-eastern Italy was investigated in three subsequent years on unsprayed Vitis labrusca vines. Overwintered adults colonised vines in spring. Nymphs occurred from late May to late October. E. vulnerata densities increased progressively in mid and late summer. E. vulnerata was rare in commercial vineyards probably because of pesticide use
