In the present study, vitellogenin (Vg)-like proteins were measured in clams (Tapes philippinarum) collected in 8 sites of the Lagoon of Venice. Vg-like proteins were evaluated in haemolymph and digestive gland from both males and females. High Vg levels were generally recorded in clams collected at more polluted sites, suggesting the presence of xenoestrogens in the study areas.

Abstract
In the present study, vitellogenin (Vg)-like proteins were measured in clams (Tapes philippinarum) collected in 8 sites of the Lagoon of Venice. Vg-like proteins were evaluated in haemolymph and digestive gland from both males and females. High Vg levels were generally recorded in clams collected at more polluted sites, suggesting the presence of xenoestrogens in the study areas.File in questo prodotto:
