Abstract

In this paper is reported a stabilization project for strengthening a road subjected to depressions and cracking due to landslide movements. Starting from the description of the case study, an innovative stabilization solution is described and a monitoring system that integrates different techniques is proposed. Remediation works consist of deformable structures which allow small displacements to induce a stress distribution favourable to the stability of the slope. The main advantages of the proposed solution are the adaptability to different geo-environmental situations and the low cost compared to other alternatives. But the performance and the effectiveness have to be monitored and tested in depth.
