The ENDOR spectra of powdered samples of urea-malonic acid and of KH malonate were recorded at room temperature. They present narrow peaks at frequencies around the free proton frequency νN corresponding to absorptions by weakly coupled protons. The pattern varies with the region of the EPR spectrum which is saturated by the microwave field. The relevant feature is a piling up of the ENDOR absorption at frequencies corresponding to principal values of the hyperfine tensor of the weakly coupled protons. These features and the information it is possible to obtain from ENDOR powder spectra of organic π radicals are discussed. © 1980.

Abstract
