In the summer 1993, during a scientific expedition, it has been visited the Norilsk-Talnakn mining district, where a wide area of boreal forest (Taiga) has been destroied by pollution. After a brief analysis of recent bibliography about forest decline and pollution, observed domages on trees and shrubs as forest ecosystem components are described.
