Exact dynamical equations, which couple the operators for transitions between two-cluster partitions of N particles, are analyzed. It is shown that the equations become connected under minimal conditions after N-2 iterations. Cluster models are studied and their detailed structure is examined in the case of the four- and five-body problems.

Abstract
