Abstract
Outgassing tests have been performed by means of thermal treatments to demonstrate the presence of gaseous phase within the surface layers of N-ion implanted iron. The results can be explained by considering also the decomposition of nitrides present together with the gaseous phase after implantation. A correlation is suggested between improvement of surface mechanical properties and presence of iron-nitrogen compounds. © 1982.File in questo prodotto:
