Abstract

Specific deficits of conceptual structures are found here with specific types of aphasia. When using simple, artificial instances, Broca's aphasics are specifically impaired in the understanding at sequential concepts and Wernicke's aphasics are primarily impaired with class concepts. Implications for further studies on the intellectual deficits in aphasia are discussed.
