Objective:to combine listening therapy of patients with psoriasis with statistical measurement of the variables identified in the areas studied with the interview. In particular, we investigate the association between awareness- the capacity of psoriatic patients to connect stressful events with the debut and / or exacerbation of the disease- and the variables considered in the interview. Materials and Methods:sample consisting of 30 patients with psoriasis (10 women, 20 men). Areas and variables measured: a) socio-demographic variables of the patient, b) the patient’s medical history, c) Assessment of the clinical and participant observer. The collected data were organized into two-dimensional contingency tables constructed by crossing each time the variable “knowledge” with the other variables, then the model bivariate log-linear saturated was applied. Results:The presence of awareness in the patient appears to be associated with a greater ability to bring different stressful events (z = 2.20 **) and to express emotions (z = 2.74 **), in addition, these patients more often reported to have suffered changes in negative image of himself (z = 2.04 **) and in the relationship with partners (z = 1.96 **) due to the disease. Increased awareness is found in patients with other cases of psoriasis in the family (z = 2.09 **) and who are suffering from a form of moderate- severe disease (z = 2.36 **). Finally, the presence of awareness in the exordium and in the aggravetion of the disease is associated with a lower number of treatments made by patients (z = 1.89 *) Conclusions:The psychological person-focused listening is integrated with the need to statistically test the hypotheses. Future studies may investigate the relationship between quality of life and consciousness
