44 patients with central nervous system metastases were treated with combination chemotherapy (adriamycin, VM 26 and CCNU). The best results were obtained in breast adenocarcinoma and small cell lung carcinoma with multiple, small cerebral metastases and without concomitant visceral involvement at other sites. The potential effectiveness of this regimen to prevent cerebral metastases is discussed.

Abstract
