The tutor, albeit with a long tradition, has only recently been introduced in different backgrounds (educational, academic, business and professional). Only in the last ten years, the Italian university has officially introduced tutoring and actions of peer tutoring services to support the students or informational activities and study support promoted and enacted by students enrolled in last year's course of study. Tutor is entrusted with a key role concerning the accompaniment of the students who decide to start the academic career, especially when they will facing difficulties. Recently, the Spanish University provided with an "accessible system of support and guidance for enrolled students”. This contribution will be described and compared by two models of support and accompaniment to university students through the peer tutoring and mentoring analisys proposals by the University of Padua and the Universidad de Burgos, in order to share best practices for possible implementation of their services.
