This article analyzes new forms of rural settlement installed on the territory of the diocese of Eio (El Tolmo de Minateda) after its foundation between the late sixth and early seventh century. By surface reconnaissance and review of archaeological materials, it analyzes how the ancient roman uillae evolved, and the emergence of new farmers nuclei (villages or scattered habitats) and of the possible height settlements of a certain importance (castra).
