Cu2+ coordination by a tridentate phenanthroline-related derivative (P120) was examined and compared to phenanthroline. Results from X-ray analysis underlined significant increments in the N-Cu bond lengths in Cu(P120)(H2O)SO4 which are counterbalanced by a closer approach of the apical oxygen donors to the metal. These modifications may be related to the different properties observed in physiological environment.

Abstract
Cu2+ coordination by a tridentate phenanthroline-related derivative (P120) was examined and compared to phenanthroline. Results from X-ray analysis underlined significant increments in the N-Cu bond lengths in Cu(P120)(H2O)SO4 which are counterbalanced by a closer approach of the apical oxygen donors to the metal. These modifications may be related to the different properties observed in physiological environment.File in questo prodotto:
