Grapevine Pinot gris virus (GPGV) has been recently detected in Europe and the mite Colomerus vitis was suspected to be the vector of this virus. Molecular analysis revealed the presence of GPGV in C. vitis and a number of these mites were able to transmit GPGV to healthy grapevines confirming the potential role of mites in spreading this disease.

Abstract
