Dentigerous cysts are benign odontogenic cysts associated with the crownsof deciduous, permanent or supernumerary teeth. When dentigerous cystssurround impacted teeth, they often displace the teeth into ectopic posi-tions; ectopic teeth in the maxilla may be displaced into the maxillary sinus.A review of the literature on this condition is provided, and we report on sixconsecutive cases of dentigerous cysts associated with an ectopic third molarin the maxillary sinus, focusing on their conservative surgical treatment.
