It is a well-known fact that cancer of the larynx occurs with a different incidence in the two sexes. Males are more commonly affected between 50 and 75 years of age. Cancer of the larynx in females accounts for 1 to 10% of all cases, according to different series. The varying percentage of incidence are most probably due to environmental and racial factors. Furthermore, in both sexes malignant lesions of the larynx are rare under age 30. The occurrence of cancer of the larynx in pregnancy seems to be exceptional. Only a few cases appear to have been reported in the literature. A case of laryngeal papillomatosis changing into carcinoma during pregnancy has also been described. In the present paper we report a case of carcinoma of the larynx occurring in a young woman during pregnancy.
